At Le Bench we are lucky enough to sell homewares from some great local companies.

We sat down with Sacha Alagich the founder and designer of Escape to Paradise to find out more about the amazing brand, get some styling tips and to get a local’s lowdown on the Northern Beaches.

What made you start Escape to Paradise?
I started Escape to Paradise back in 2009 when I had the idea to be able to bring the happy feelings of being on a holiday to everyday life by designing a range of homewares and accessories that are inspired by being on a tropical holiday so now every day can feel like a holiday in your home.

BarnWhat is your favourite Escape to Paradise cushion?
I have so many favourite designs, but I would have to say that you can’t go past the classic Palm Trees cushion as it just goes with so many different interior styles and is always on trend and in fashion.

What’s the biggest challenges and what do you like most about owning your own business?
The biggest challenge for me with running my own business is being able to switch off and not working 24/7 as it is very easy to keep going all day long when being so passionate about the brand! But the most rewarding part of running a business is to know when customers simply love our designs and tell us how much they love seeing the designs in their home and it makes them happy.

What is your favourite beach on the Northern Beaches?
My favourite beach on the Northern Beaches would have to be Bungan Beach as it is quiet and a hidden gem as not many people visit (because of limited car parking and that massive hill to climb to get back) but it is nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of Manly (where I live) on the weekends to a quieter place.

BarnAs a local, can you tell us one of the Northern Beaches hidden Gems?
I really enjoy doing the North Head walk from Shelly Beach as there is a great diversity of walking tracks to choose from and it is very quiet and nice to escape the crowds in Manly.

What is your favourite weekend activity in Sydney?
My favourite weekend activity is definitely surfing and enjoy travelling to lots of different beaches up and down the coast to find a fun wave.

BarnWhich is your favourite Le Bench table?
My favourite Le Bench table is ‘The Palmy Table‘ as it is such a clever idea and is perfect for entertaining to have the ice bucket in the middle of the table and is such a beautiful classic design that will compliment any modern style home.

Make sure you visit the Escape to Paradise website to check out their amazing range of homewares.
